Outreach Services
What we do
NKWA employ an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) who can offer advice and support to victims of domestic abuse – male or female - who are at high risk of serious harm. The IDVA can help increase their level of safety, help them think through their options and get the necessary help they may need from other agencies. Our aim is to help victims and their children move safely towards living violence free lives. An IDVA is your advocate and can:
-
Carry out a risk assessment of your situation
-
Prioritise your safety
-
Give you a voice
-
Listen to you and your wishes
What does an IDVA do? An IDVA can –
-
Give advice and support to help you think through your options

-

-
Keep you up to date with court proceedings
-

Outreach Support In addition to the IDVA service, NKWA can also provide Outreach support for those in the community who would like some general information regarding their options, or just someone who will listen to them in a non judgemental way. This can be provided over the telephone or in a one to one meeting in a safe location. Alternatively why not attend one of the One Stop Shops in North Kent.
